The Aviation Medicine update session is being brought to you by the CO of the RAAF Institute of Aviation Medicine WGCDR Collette Richards. For those who need to maintain currency, as per HD 305, this day will contribute towards satisfying HD 305 requirements.
The day will provide a refresher on contemporary topics including, but not limited to; aeromedical decision making, neck and back pain management, ophthalmology, JBAC management, introduction to the new ground trial protocol for hypnotics, changes in recruiting standards, renal topics of aeromedical significance, rotary wing operations, what’s trending in physiological incidents and how to manage them.

HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation –
Refresher Course
Date: Thursday 13 October
Time: 9.00 am to 12.00 pm

$150 for AMMA members
$200 for non-members
Cost includes the course, renewal certificate and morning tea upon arrival.
This is a CPR recertifying course which is designed to refresh the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain breathing and circulation in an adult, child or infant following cardiac arrest. Content is based on Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.
**Please note it is a requirement of this renewal course that practical demonstration of CPR must be performed on the floor.**
The specific topics covered by the refresher course include:
- – Legal and other issues
- – Cultural issues
- – Basic Life Support
- – CPR and AED
- – Debriefing/welfare
Prerequisites:
To book into this refresher course, students must have successfully completed and hold a current Statement of Attainment for Perform CPR (HLTCPR211A) or Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (HLTAID001). Students must present their Statement of Attainment either prior to, or on the day of the course.
